{"id":6835,"date":"2021-11-02T23:45:25","date_gmt":"2021-11-02T23:45:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bancroftconstruction.com\/?p=6835"},"modified":"2021-11-04T16:50:40","modified_gmt":"2021-11-04T16:50:40","slug":"williams-justice-center-7th-floor-receives-2021-dca-excellence-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bancroftconstruction.com\/2021\/11\/02\/williams-justice-center-7th-floor-receives-2021-dca-excellence-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Williams Justice Center 7th Floor Fit-Out  Receives 2021 DCA Excellence Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Last week Superintendent Tom Farrell and Project Manager Matt Tedesco accepted a 2021 Excellence Award from the Delaware Contractor&#8217;s Association (DCA) for the immaculate 7<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">th F<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">loor Fit-Out of the Williams Justice Center (WJC) in Wilmington, DE. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">The $7,400,000 project included the existing 7th-floor shell space, removing the existing storage partitions and fence, and dividing the shell space&#8217;s port portions, totaling 30,790 square feet. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The design team for the project was led by Tevebaugh Architecture and was supported by DEDC Engineering, MacIntosh Engineering, and Ricci Green Associates. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Throughout this project, Bancroft had to overcome several logistical challenges, including scheduling, security concerns, challenging weather conditions, and the COVID-19 pandemic. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">As the COVID 19 stay-at-home orders went into place in early 2020, construction activities were deemed essential in Delaware. Even though mandates by Governor Carney allowed construction to continue, the Courts and their associated agencies shut down. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the regular capacity and occupancy limits of the courtrooms during the day required most of our team\u2019s work to be completed overnight.\u00a0 The work progressed within the established schedule thanks to the flexibility of the courts, trade partners, facilities, and the entire design team.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Constructed in 1999, the Leonard L. Williams Justice Center sits on a 5.3-acre site in downtown Wilmington, DE.
